Living lesser hedgehog tenrec and inferred Cenozoic arrival of ancestors · modern map

Interpretive illustration of a living lesser hedgehog tenrec in a dry habitat, not an ancestral reconstruction or a crossing scene.

Begin with the lesser hedgehog tenrec, then explore inferred ancestral arrival on Madagascar and convergent evolution. Continental breakup, animal arrival and the evolution of similar shapes are different questions.
